Just what you always wanted, yet another email in your inbox. Unlike 90% of your inbox content, Vanity is hopefully going to grow into something you might actually want to read.
There’s a metric tonne of specialized content, most of it highly technical, on the art/ethics/process of social media and marketing on social. Vanity’s goal will be to bring that together in a format that mirrors it’s subject: a roundup of information in one place to make it easy to jump off (sounds like Twitter, Ryan), a bit of insight into the news of the day (sounds like Medium, Ryan), and presented in a format that’s easy to engage with - listening, watching, or reading (sounds like Facebook, Ryan).
That being said, here’s what you can expect from Vanity:
I’ll do my best to not spam your inbox. I’ll only publish stories when they matter, and that matter to our subscribers. If that means publishing a daily/weekly round up of important stories, and the occasional long piece on why something matters, sobeit.
We’ll take your feedback seriously. Like, really seriously. Probably gonna obsess over it, tbh. My goal is to provide content here that makes you go hmmm. Discussion is welcome, fighting is not.
We will never, ever, post clickbait. There’s plenty of knowledgeable people in the world already making money teaching you their versions of successful marketing practices. This ain’t that.
It’s my hope to scale Vanity into a reliable and credible source of information for subscribers. And in time, we will offer a premium option for subscribers to help support the work and grow. That puts the onus on me to provide something compelling you want to reward with your time, and maybe your financial support. Want to add a podcast? A video component? A meetup? I’ll leave all the options on the table. But for now, let’s grow, make mistakes, and hopefully get better.

In the meantime, tell your friends!
